My fiance and I had the pleasure of getting to know Barbara over the better part of a year while we were navigating an incredibly tight Texas housing market. Being new(er) to the area, she helped us identify so many great places to live, and ultimately helping us to find our dream house. Barbara was always eager to listen and, very importantly to us, point out things that weren’t on our radar about every house we would look at. She has an innate skill to be able to be supportive, while also pointing out the flaws in various homes. When we were super excited about a home, she made sure we stayed grounded and looked for the things about the home that could eventually be a major pain point (cracks in the point work, shoddy pool workmanship, bad floor molding work, etc.) Really the only way I can articulate it is “motherly” in that she wanted to be supportive of our purchase and dream, but also wanted us to know the risks. It is a very delicate line to dance and she does it well. As we looked at 100s of homes, Barbara’s enthusiasm never waned either. We were burned out and felt like we were looking at too many houses but she would always tell us “we’ll find the right one,” or “we haven’t even looked at enough yet.” The buying experience was so pleasant and I look forward to working with her again should we decide to move into a new dream home.
